Operations

Precision at industrial scale.

An integrated refining system built to turn suitable crude and condensate feedstocks into valuable petroleum and petrochemical streams.

Our facility

124,500 barrels per day of current refining capacity.

Kertih Refinery processes Malaysian light sweet crude and includes a condensate splitting facility.

The configuration supports production of naphtha and other valuable streams, with naphtha supplied as feedstock to the adjacent aromatics complex. Actual throughput and product slate vary with feedstock, maintenance and market requirements.

Process overview

A connected
refining pathway.

Every stage is governed by operating envelopes, quality controls and process-safety barriers.

01

Feedstock receipt

Suitable crude and condensate enter controlled storage and are tested against agreed quality specifications.

02

Primary separation

Atmospheric distillation separates the feed by boiling range into distinct processing streams.

03

Condensate splitting

Condensate is fractionated into light and middle components for further use or treatment.

04

Treatment & upgrading

Selected streams are treated and reformed to manage quality and prepare them for integration.

05

Storage & transfer

Finished and intermediate streams move through controlled storage into domestic, export and adjacent value chains.

This high-level overview is for general information and does not disclose security-sensitive operating detail.

Operating system

Reliability is built into the work.

Reliable operations depend on strong barriers, capable people and disciplined execution.

Asset integrity

Inspection, maintenance and engineering assurance support the condition and safe availability of process equipment.

Process control

Operating parameters, alarms and procedures support stable operations within approved limits.

Turnaround planning

Planned maintenance windows enable detailed inspection, renewal and improvement of critical assets.

Quality assurance

Testing and traceability help verify feedstock compatibility and product conformance.

Connected value
